Hey, I’m Kenita — but everybody calls me Chef K. Eastside Kitchen and Market is my Black-owned, woman-owned kitchen, built on more than 20 years of doing what I love. I grew up watching my family feed people the right way — with so much style and grace, and a whole lot of love on the plate. My mom always told me to strive for excellence; and my dad always said make yourself undeniable. I’ve been carrying that with me since I was nine years old, selling mini cakes out the house as KK’s Baby Cakes. That little hustle turned into culinary school, a hospitality degree, and a lifelong promise that whoever sits at my table is going to be taken care of.
